David Worters

Get to Know Me

In 2021, David helped launch Compass as a founding broker/agent and has been the firm's top individual agent ever since. David has been included in the Triangle Business Journal’s Book of Lists “Top Real Estate Agents” for ten consecutive years and is among the top 1/10 of 1% of real estate agents in all of North Carolina.

His real estate practice extends over all of Wake County and the Triangle. Additionally, he assists luxury clients in Avery and Watauga Counties, principally Boone, Banner Elk and Blowing Rock. David also founded the upper-end firm-within-a-firm Triangle Luxury Collective at Compass in 2023.

David enjoys the incredible diversity of homes and clients with which he works and is respected for his responsiveness, dedication, attention to tiny details and passionate commitment to his clients’ best interests. If he isn't working, look for him at Lenovo Center where he will be in Section 120 cheering on the Carolina Hurricanes (or, in the hockey off-season, in Blowing Rock at his family's second home in the Blue Ridge Mountains).

David navigated to real estate after a 25-year career in the entertainment and performing arts world, including more than ten years as President and CEO of the North Carolina Symphony. He credits his mother and father, accomplished professional and amateur pianists respectively, for fostering his love of music. A native of the Boston area, he grew up in Newton, Massachusetts and earned his undergraduate degree in economics at Harvard.

Prior to making Raleigh his permanent home in the 1990s, David lived in cities ranging from Chicago to San Francisco and Spokane to Fort Worth, instilling in him a deeply felt appreciation of the concept of “home” and what makes every community unique and special in its own way. David is the incredibly proud father of his daughter Olivia, a summa cum laude graduate from Appalachian State University, and he is married to Miranda Yeager, a recently retired executive from the healthcare/pharmaceuticals industry. Miranda and David's five-year-old rescue dog is Maggie (or Margaret or Maggie Moo).

Get to Know Me

Emma teamed up with David almost as soon as she joined their previous firm, and the two have been working side by side ever since. Like David, Emma hails from “up north,” Michigan (go green!) to be exact, though she has long felt a pull toward the South, which she jokingly attributes to falling in love with Sweet Home Alabama at just seven years old.

A decade in Raleigh has given Emma a deep love for the city she now proudly calls home. She knows the area and its surrounding neighborhoods inside and out and brings that local insight to every client relationship. She is known for her clear communication, sharp attention to detail, and helping clients make informed decisions while feeling confident at every stage of their real estate journey.

When not helping clients, Emma enjoys exploring antique shops, estate sales, and scouring Facebook Marketplace in search of unique finds. While she appreciates homes of all styles and eras, it is historic properties that truly capture her heart. She’s always working on a house project, big or small, and loves bringing creativity and care to every space she touches. What some see as a headache, extra expense, or a time-consuming project, Emma sees potential and is not intimidated by a home that needs a little TLC… or a whole lot of TLC! She enjoys working with clients who value creativity and thoughtful design, whether they are first-time buyers, relocating to Raleigh, or longtime locals ready for their next chapter.

Away from real estate, Emma enjoys good company, a little chaos, and plenty of laughs. She has two questionably well-behaved mutts who provide endless comic relief and Instagram content, coaches a just-for-fun kickball team that’s more about laughs than trophies, and hosts a monthly book club (reading optional) and never passes up a chance to play Mahjong. Her cooking may be limited, but her knowledge of Raleigh’s restaurants is extensive. You are most likely to run into her at FlowCorps Pilates or enjoying the signature Smashburger at Standard because, well, life and real estate are all about balance!
